I often use wget in order to fetch things from websites or even to find out what type of server i am fetching from. The reason i decided to write this program is that i find the long gnu options extremly hard to remember. I also wanted to try my hand at writing a GUI program on a *nix platform. The layout was designed mostly by Laura Potter http://www.webcoves.com. I did the majority of the programming. Gtkwget is under the GPL as wget is GPL'ed. Laura or I would be happy to release it under a different licence if requested. Gtkwget is nowhere near production quality software, but i still find it usefull. To get it up to snuff would require some system level programming in order to make the 'cancel' option work. The only really "interesting" coding in it is an array of pointers to functions.
